Rivers missing for Crewe, Bolton wait on Warhurst
Crewe manager Dario Gradi is expected to be without striker Mark Rivers for the visit of Bolton to Gresty Road.
Gradi said: "We should be okay for the game. We have had one or two knocks David Wright and Dean Ashton, but they should train and should be fine."
Rivers is struggling from a shoulder problem and is also suffering from illness and is now considered a major doubt for the game.
Rob Hulse or Colin Little could take his place. Wright has a slight knock on his ankle and Ashton a thigh strain, but the pair are expected to be in contention.
Meanwhile, Bolton boss Sam Allardyce faces an anxious wait to see if midfield man Paul Warhurst's season is over.
The utility player injured his ankle during Wanderers' 1-1 home draw with Stockport and is a major doubt for the trip to Crewe.
Wanderers will be boosted by the return of leading scorer Michael Ricketts.
The big striker has now served a two-match ban and he will be looking to get Wanderers back on the promotion track following their recent poor run, which has seen them slip out of the top two in Division One.
