Webb boost for Gulls clash
Southend manager David Webb has a fully fit squad to select from ahead of the Shrimpers' home clash against Torquay.
With no fresh injury or suspension worries to hamper his plans, Webb is likely to name an unchanged side from that which lost out to a last-minute Carl Griffiths goal against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Midfielder Scott Forbes and goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan picked up knocks against the O's but should shake them off in time to be included as Southend look to bounce back from a lacklustre festive spell.
Forbes said: "The Leyton Orient game was a bit of a hitch for us but we will be looking to put that right with a win on Saturday."
Torquay United's French midfielder Khalid Chlaqi and target man Habib Sissoko come back into contention for the trip to Roots Hall after both players completed three match bans.
The Gulls have already drawn 1-1 twice with Southend at Plainmoor this season, in the league and FA Cup.
United will also be hoping target man John Gayle can come back into contention after missing the last two matches with a hamstring strain but he does have Sissoko ready to return as cover.
