Match Preview: Carlisle United - Southend United
Soccernet.com

Southend without defensive pairing for long Carlisle trip

Southend United will be without defensive pair Leo Roget and Phil Whelan for the long trip north to face Carlisle.

Both players are suspended for the game after collecting five bookings.

The Shrimpers have also been forced into a goalkeeping reshuffle, with Andy Woodman returning to Brentford after his loan spell ended.

Darryl Flahavan, signed from Woking earlier this season, will now step in for United as number one.

Ian Atkins' Carlisle side should have a different look to it compared to their last Brunton Park outing.

Recent loan signing from Chesterfield Mick Galloway and Gordon Connelly, a permanent signing from Southend, look set to make their home debuts after impressing in the defeat at Brighton.

Carl Heggs is again out of contention as he serves the second game of his two-match suspension as Carlisle look to lift themselvess off the foot of the table.
